NetSuite Integration

Alooma can read and replicate many of the NetSuite tables from your NetSuite account. This allows you to, among other scenarios, merge your business accounting, ERP, CRM, and ecommerce data with other data in Alooma to get deeper insights on your business.

Alooma synchronizes NetSuite data every half hour and by default pulls the last year of data. We pull some NetSuite data incrementally and for some we pull the entire table every time, depending on the needs of the specific table.

To configure a NetSuite integration:

Role and permissions

Before you can set up your NetSuite integration, you'll need to create a role and assign it the proper permissions. In NetSuite:

  1. From the Setup menu, select User/Roles->Manage Roles.

  2. Click New Role.

  3. Enter a name for the role.

  4. Now, via Permissions->Setup, attach the following permissions to it:

    • Web Services

    • Deleted Records

    • Custom Record Types

    • Custom Body Fields

    • Custom Entity Fields

    • Custom Item Fields

    • Custom Event Fields

  5. Add read-only (View) permissions for the tables you'd like to sync with Alooma.


    Depending on the type of table and your configuration, you may need to look in several subcategories under Permissions to find the permissions for your tables, including Custom Record, Transactions, Lists, etc.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Assign the new role to the NetSuite user you'll be using for the integration. From Setup -> Manage Users, select the user.

  8. Click Access and then check the Give Access box.

  9. Select the role from the Role pull-down, then click Add.

  10. Click Save.

Setting up the Input

You can connect NetSuite to Alooma in just a few steps:

  1. Click Add an input from the plumbing screen in Alooma.

  2. Select the NetSuite option.

  3. Give your input a name. The name will appear in the plumbing screen, but will not effect the names of the events that the input emits.

  4. Enter your NetSuite email and password (which you use to log in).

  5. Enter your NetSuite Account ID.

    • Find this in NetSuite by clicking Setup in the top nav bar, then Integration and Web Service Preferences. The Account ID is shown on the resulting page.

  6. Generate and enter an Application ID.

    • Generate this in NetSuite by clicking Setup in the top nav bar, then Integration and Manage Integrations. Create a new integration, named appropriately, and save. The Application ID is shown on the resulting page.

  7. Define whether the account info pertains to a sandbox account.

  8. Select the objects you'd like to stream to Alooma (a few common ones are selected by default, but you can delete them and/or add others).

  9. Optionally, type any custom objects you'd like to stream. Submit as a comma-separated list of the custom object names.


    Remember to use the object name, not the internal script IDs when adding custom objects.

  10. By default we pull the last year due to the performance of the NetSuite query API. However, you can choose to define the start date of the input.

Keep the mapping mode to the default of OneClick if you'd like Alooma to automatically map all NetSuite tables directly to your data destination. Otherwise, they'll have to be mapped manually from the Mapper screen.

That's it, you're ready to replicate your NetSuite tables to your data destination!
