Localytics Integration

Alooma can read and replicate all of the Localytics event data from your Localytics account. This allows you to merge client usage data with other data in your data destination.

Background

Alooma provides a way for you to pull your Localytics data using the Localytics log exports API. Every hour, Alooma requests the logs for the previous hour and retrieves the file from Localytics as soon as it becomes available.

Setting up the integration

You can connect Localytics to Alooma in just a few steps:

  1. Add your Localytics input from Alooma's plumbing screen.

  2. Give your input a name. The name will appear in the plumbing screen, and will name the events that the input emits.

  3. Select the Destination Schema where the Localytics data will be loaded to your data destination.

  4. Provide the following access info:

    • API Key - this is the customer key assigned to you by Localytics. Your key can be found in the API Keys section of the Account page in your Localytics Dashboard, or by following this link.

    • API Secret - this is the secret assigned to you by Localytics. Your key can be found in the API Keys section of the Account page in your Localytics Dashboard, or by following this link.

    • App UUID - your Localytics App ID from the Localytics Dashboard's Settings screen.

  5. Under advanced options you can choose which dates to pull data from. By default we will pull all available historical data (Localytics limits pulling of historical data to 30 days).

  6. Also under advanced options, keep the mapping mode set to the default of OneClick if you'd like Alooma to automatically map the Localytics events directly to your target data warehouse. Otherwise, they'll have to be mapped manually from the Mapper screen.

That's it! You're ready to integrate Localytics data into Alooma!
