What is CloverETL?
CloverETL is a data transformation and data integration tool (ETL) distributed as commercial open source software.
CloverETL is used to cleanse, standardize, transform, and distribute data to applications, database, and warehouses. It is a Java based program and thanks to its component based structure, customization and embeddability are possible. It can be used standalone, as a command-line application, a server application, or even embedded in other applications.
CloverETL has been used on the Windows platform and also on Linux, HP-UX, AIX, AS/400, Solaris and OSX. It can be used on low-cost PCs as on high-end multi-processor servers.
CloverETL pack includes CloverETL Engine, CloverETL Designer, and CloverETL Server.
CloverETL Engine combines two functions: a data transformation run-time and library. It can be a data transformer and also embedded in other applications. It is capable of pushing data back into an application.
CloverETL Designer enhances CloverETL with the visual design of data transformations. The functionality of standard components can be improved by an experienced programmer who can complement visual design with classic program sections. Further, code created by a programmer could be transferred to any kind of supported platform.
CloverETL Server has a rich web-based administrative interface that includes: parallel executions of transformations, clustering, support for multi-user interactions, and more.
CloverETL's flexibility allows easy design and implementation of data as well as data transformation applications and consolidation of data sources. Those sources can be dissimilar and heterogeneous systems. Moreover, it will work with structured data of any kind. It does not matter if it is stored in text files or kept in binary format. CloverETL should allow users to combine, transform, and move data from any source.
